Today our girls team emerged victorious in the Omagh Heat of the indoor 5 a-side Gaelic Football competition. After our 6 games against St. Michael’s Donemana, St. Patrick's Newtownstewart, St. Lawrence's Fintona, Our Lady of Lourdes PS Greencastle, St Ronan’s P.S. Recarson , Omagh Integrated P.S. in a league format we qualified to face St Lawrence's, Fintona in the Final. The teams were tied one goal each at full time thanks to an equaliser by Amy McGurren. In the first minute of an extra period of 3 mins Ciara McNabb & Sophie Corry blasted goals to give us a lead. The last 2 mins were frantic with heads, shoulders, knees & toes being required to prevent St Lawrence's getting an equaliser after they had reduced the deficit.
Congrats to Nicole, Ciara, Charlotte, Isibeal, Eabha, Sophie, Aimee & Amy who will represent us in the County final on 12th March in MUSA Cookstown.
They had very shrewdly negotiated 'no homework' tonight prior to the final if they won, so enjoy your night off!
